All about the Sessions with Becci
Are you one of the thousands of people who say ‘I cannot meditate’ – ‘I cannot relax’ – ‘I have too many things to do and too little time to do them in’ – ‘Relaxation – I did that once remind me again what is it?’ 'Stress! I haven't got time for stress'.
Don't you just wish sometimes that you could 'stop the world and get off'.
The simple truth is very few people can truly relax. Why – because they don’t know how to turn off their thoughts or that is what they are told they should do! Wrong you don't turn them off you just 'park' them for a while until you feel able to deal with them.
Switching Off and Re-Booting© is exactly that - I help you to turn off your mind - imagine it is your computer which has somehow got itself into a twist - cannot see the wood for the trees etc. etc. We then work out together what is causing you your 'problems' sort them out and re-boot them.
Sounds simple doesn't it - it can be - I use proven techniques including Mindfulness to quieten your mind. I don't like using the word meditation as it conjures up so many negatives one of the main ones is 'I STRUGGLE TO MEDITATE'
The simple truth is though everyone does it to some degree – day dreaming is a form of meditation. When you last wrote your shopping list did you imagine walking up and down the aisles picturing in your mind the things you wanted to buy? When you had to have a ‘deep’ conversation with somebody did you imagine what you were going to say before hand and how they would react?
You shut out the outside world if only for a few moments without a second thought – you ‘meditated’ well technically visualised.
Try it now - close your eyes - breathe through your nose and out through your mouth - stop thinking and start listening. Listen to your breathing and all the sounds around you - just the external sounds not the thoughts that try and creep in. Stretch your hearing to sounds from outside the room you are in as well. The cars going by, birds singing - the clock ticking.
The above could have taken you one or ten minutes, but for that short time you 'stopped your world'.
So what do I do ? I help you to find a way to relax to switch off even for only a short time (as above). This is all most people want to do – relax and shut out the external world. Just enough time to recharge your batteries a bit of ‘me’ time. Confusion to Peace.
